Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is one of the four core departments. The department supports the academic requirements for students pursuing a four year Bachelor of Pharmacy course and two year Diploma of Pharmacy course of Magadh University. The laboratories are equipped to undertake graduate as well as Post Graduate research in the area of synthetic and analytical chemistry. Three laboratories namely the Pharmaceutical Analysis Lab, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab and Quality Assurance & Quality Control Lab with excellent working facilities and equipped with necessary infrastructure to provide practical training to degree and diploma students.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is an indispensable component of any pharmacy education program. Its wide-ranging coverage of drug discovery and development is crucial in moulding students into exceptional Pharma Professionals. Collaborative research opportunities with other departments expose students to ground-breaking research in pharmaceutical sciences and interdisciplinary fields. The distinguished faculty members expound upon a diverse range of subjects, including organic chemistry, general chemistry, physical chemistry, pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical analysis, imparting invaluable insights to students pursuing the four-year B.Pharm course.

Our department is fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure to facilitate undergraduate teaching. We have a central instrumentation room that is equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC systems, UV-visible spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and melting point apparatus for laboratory work.
