




Bihar College of Pharmacy Observes World Cancer Day 2026 with Special Awareness and Academic Session
Bihar College of Pharmacy successfully observed World Cancer Day on 4 February 2026 with a special awareness and academic program aimed at sensitizing students and staff about cancer prevention, early detection, and recent advances in cancer care. The event was organized in alignment with the global theme *“United by Unique” * , which highlights people-centred cancer care and recognizes the individuality of every patient’s journey.
The program was graced by the esteemed presence of *Dr. Ridu Kumar Sharma* , Founder and Director of Magadh Cancer Centre, as the Chief Guest and Main Speaker. Dr. Sharma is a renowned Medical Oncologist with more than ten years of experience in oncology and is widely respected for his expertise in treating haematological malignancies, breast cancer, gynaecological cancers, paediatric cancers, and in performing bone marrow transplantation.
The session commenced with a welcome address by the Principal of Bihar College of Pharmacy, who underscored the significance of World Cancer Day and highlighted the vital role pharmacists play in cancer prevention, patient education, medication management, and supportive care. The principal emphasized that pharmacists are key contributors in ensuring safe and effective therapy, improving treatment adherence, and enhancing the overall quality of life of cancer patients.
